DSLR ACCESSORIES ONE MUST HAVE

Posted by Rupesh Kumar Karki
To have a DSLR is not sufficient you have to purchase some other accessories also that are a must and you should possess them. It is not necessary that you should buy all of them at one time only. As and when you are capable of managing your budget must try to purchase them, because even I am purchasing must-have accessories one by one. It is not possible for a person like me who does photography just to quench his thirst for photography. But if someone who is professional, must possess these accessories.

  • GOOD CAMERA BAG- A good camera bag can be called which has the sufficient space to keep the camera, lenses, extra gears like a battery, remote, flash, lens cleaning kit and also some extra little items. A bag with protected pads in it so that any jerk could not harm the costly accessories of the camera or to the camera itself. Sometimes people don't realize the importance of bag and they go with a small bag and they have to replace it after two months with a bag with more space for camera and lenses.
  • REMOTE SHUTTER RELEASE- Remote shutter release becomes a must accessory for the camera when you have taken a photograph under the low light condition where you have to use slow shutter at that time remote is required that also can be wired or wireless, depends on your interest and requirement. You can take group photos including yourself if you have a wireless remote. For taking shots at night long light trails and such photos you have to use a remote shutter release. Even if you are mounting the camera on a tripod is not going to solve your problem you have to buy a remote shutter release.
  • MEMORY CARD- You should keep sufficient storage with you because if you shoot in RAW then definitely you are going to need good storage space for your photos because RAW files are big enough and they need more space in comparison to JPEG images. It is better to keep at least 16GB of two memory cards. It is always better to shoot your photographs in RAW rather than JPEG in order to get more details in your image and it will also comfort you while doing post processing job. Therefore, I think one should keep a good amount of storage space so that you don't have to repent while shooting in different locations.
  • EXTRA BATTERY- It is a case when you are outdoor shooting and if you have only one battery there is a possibility that you may be dried up with one battery and when you will be about to shoot a scene, you may lose that. In order to avoid such drastic condition, it is recommended to keep an extra battery. If you are not a professional photographer then there is no need to keep extra battery but better to keep it charged. And if you are a professional photographer it is recommended to keep an extra battery. When you are shooting the temperature also matters, if the temperature is cold then there is the possibility of short battery life. Under such conditions, you have to keep an extra battery.
  • EXTERNAL FLASH- We all know better that there is internal or inbuilt flash but the problem is when you have to shoot daytime and you need to fire the flash and you don't have external flash or hot shoe flash you have to struggle with the shutter speed as you can't go beyond a certain limit and such limitations create problem in the photography. In order to avoid such situation, it is better to purchase a good external flash. I think this is one of the things which is a must gear for the camera and one should possess this.
  • CLOSEUP FILTER- When we talk about macro photography then how one can imagine a camera with a prime or zoom lens but without close-up lens or filter. If you are a professional photographer then it is better to purchase a macro lens and if you are a hobbyist then there is no harm in purchasing a close-up lens or filter as they are quite inexpensive and within the budget also. Macro photography is a thing which creates interest in the subject and a photographer look towards exploring more things going closer to that particular subject. If you are interested in Macro Photography then it is better to purchase a close-up filter not a too costly affair and within the budget.
  • LENS CLEANING KIT- Dirt and dust in front of the lens create an image look dull or increases your post processing work. Dirty lenses also don't give the desired effect in your picture. As you know if some dirt goes into your eyes you have to clean it and then only you can see properly, same is the case with the lens, you should keep it clean in order to crispy clean photograph. There one thing that should take place in your must have items list is Lens Cleaning Kit.
  • TRIPOD- I think when you are going for remote shutter release then it is better to purchase a good Tripod along with that because if you want to shoot some scene with slow shutter speed then definitely you are going to need a tripod because even a slight movement of the camera can make you photo blurred. A tripod is good for low light, night and landscape photography. But before buying you have to check what weight that particular tripod supports? A variety of brands are there and few of them are best like Slik, Manfrotto, Photron, etc. Look for a tripod that can support twice the weight of your camera and lens
